Operating your boiler with an optimum amount of excess air will minimize heat loss up the stack and improve combustion efficiency. Combustion efficiency is a measure of how effectively the heat content of a fuel is transferred into usable heat. The stack temperature and flue gas Oxygen (or Carbon Dioxide) concentrations are primary indicators of combustion efficiency.

Natural Resources and Office of Energy Efficiency
Typically, reducing O2 in the flue gas by 1 percent- for example, from 5 percent to 4 percent- increases boiler efficiency by about 2.5 percent.

Controlling excess air is the most important tool for managing the energy efficiency and atmospheric emissions of a boiler system.

As graph shows, the effect of air temperature on excess air in the flue gas can be dramatic.

Understanding Global Warming

Our Planet earth is heating up and fast.

Glaciers are melting, Himalayan glaciers are retreating at a rate of 15 meters per year, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace.

It's becoming clear that humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years.

Global warming is already disrupting the biological world. But the worst is yet to come. The urgent need to deal with the increasing levels of pollution resulting in global warming and other ecological concerns is real and can no longer be ignored.

Global warming is arguably the most pressing issue we face today. For the first time in our history the whole human species is under threat from the alarmingly powerful forces of climate change.

Will we be able to make the changes needed to save future generations from the ruinous chaos of a shifting climate? The climate of earth is changing rapidly, as can be seen from severe winter or very hot summer found every year.

There is no more important cause than a call for action to save our planet.

Increased temperature in climate of India brings more cyclones, more draughts, less agricultural production. Economically a rise in temperature 0f 2.5 to 4.9 degree centigrade can drop GDP between 1.8 to 3.4% which is a very huge loss in monetary terms. Global warming will affect 70% of plants and more than 200.000 villages will be deserted.

This is a movement about change, as individuals, as a country, and as a global community. We are all contributors to global warming and we all need to be part of the solution.
